Work Instructions: How to Inspect, Clean Out, and Replace Wash Nozzles, including High-Pressure Nozzles
Frequency Recommendation: Inspect hourly with cleaning as needed
Parts Required:
- Gray 10E80 Nozzle (P-CHE-2108)
- Red 03E80 Nozzle (P-WAT-2135)
- Gray 10E40 Nozzle (P-CHE-2107)
- Yellow 05E80 Nozzle (P-WAT-2133)
- Stainless Steel High-Pressure Rinse Nozzles (P-WAT-2192)
- Stainless Steel K-Nozzles (P-CHE-2049)
- Stainless Steel Tire Shine Nozzles (P-WAT-2243)
- Spinning High-Pressure Blaster Nozzles (P-CHE-2138)
Tools Required:
- Safety glasses and gloves
- 9/16" Wrench
- Adjustable wrench
- Pliers
- Thread tape
- Welding top Cleaner
Procedure:
- Ensure the wash is not running.
- Put on gloves and safety glasses.
- Remove the clogged nozzle from the arch.
- Rinse the nozzle with water and/or remove debris with a small welding tip cleaner. Do not blow on nozzles.
- Place Thread tape on the nozzle’s threads
- Reinstall the cleaned nozzle and referenced the Nozzle Standard Guide for location.
- Test the function and inspect for leaks.
Triple Threat High-Pressure Nozzles:
- Ensure the wash is not running.
- Remove the nozzle from the high-pressure blaster manifold.
- Place the nozzle halfway in the vice, and use pliers to remove the stainless-steel cap.
- Using 2 adjustable pliers/wrenches, loosen the thin retaining nut on the back of the nozzle.
- Remove the other half of the stainless-steel cap.
- Split the inner body of the nozzle to reveal the internal components, taking note of how they are put together.
- Clean/rinse each component individually.
- Reassemble the nozzle in reverse order.
- Place Thread tape on the nozzle fitting
- Reinstall the nozzle in the high-pressure blaster manifold.
- Test the function and inspect for leaks.
