Connecting The M2 Stripe Reader
The Location Services for the iPad must be on to properly process payments from the M2 card reader to the PoP app.
- Connect M2 reader to the charger and let charge minimum 1 hour out of the box. The reader needs minimum of 50% charge to update the firmware.
- Make sure the Tommy PoP application is updated to latest version.
- Make sure the Tommy PoP is connected to the GWC network.
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the Tommy PoP iPad.
- Make sure location services are enabled on the iPad and allowed for the Tommy PoP application.
- Tap the settings icon in the upper right-hand corner in the PoP application.
- Tap the ‘Card Reader’ option in the settings menu.
- Tap ‘Add New Card Reader’.
- Tap ‘Bluetooth Readers’.
- Hold down the power button on the M2 reader until it beeps. This will put the reader in discovery mode.
- Once the iPad discovers reader it will appear in the ‘Select card reader’ menu. Tap the reader to select it.
- A pop up will appear saying ‘Bluetooth Pairing Request’. Tap the ‘Pair’ option. The reader will then flash when paired.
- The iPad will now connect to the reader and a green banner will appear in the background. During this time do not close the app or lock the screen until this process is completed. This process can take up to 30 minutes.
- Once the reader is connected a ‘Finish setup’ button will appear. Tap this button and the reader will now be paired with your PoP application.
Notes:
There have been issues setting up a new M2 card reader when a Stripe reader (WisePOS or P400) is currently connected. Please be sure to deselect the Stripe card reader if this is the case and try the setup again.
The battery life of an M2 card reader should last approximately 800 transactions.
