Procedure:
- Press a Wash Stop in.
- Remove the 2 screws from the blue UHMW pieces covering the bearings and the shaft on both ends.
- Remove the motor mount from the tire gloss brush. Using ¾” wrenches loosen the bolt and the nut holding the mount on.
- Loosen bolts and nuts on the aluminum coupling connecting the motor shaft and brush shaft. (2 sockets may be handy for this as the regular wrench doesn’t fit very well. Or a socket and a flathead screwdriver. Jamming the flat head screwdriver into the side holding the nut in place from spinning.)
- Slide motor out of aluminum coupling.
- Using an 11/16” wrench loosen the bolts holding bearings into place.
- Once bearing bolts have been removed, the brush will be free to pull out.
- Prepare a new brush in advance. Slide one bearing on each end. Bolt down the stub shaft onto each end.
- Put the new brush into place. Line up how old the brush used to be and put bolt bearings into place.
- Lining up keyways slide aluminum coupling on to brush shaft.
- Lining up keyways slide the motor shaft into the aluminum coupling.
- Tighten bolts and nuts on the aluminum coupling.
- Put the bolt for the motor mount back into place and tighten the nut down.
- Put both UHMW pieces back on.
- Pull the wash stop out.
- Turn on the Tire gloss hydraulic and inspect for any issues. If no issues, turn back on “Auto.”
