Work Instructions: How to Take Volumetrics
Parts Needed:
- Graduated Cylinder (P-SE-POD-111) https://shop.tommycarwash.com/250ml-Graduated-Cylinder-1
Tools Needed:
- Safety Goggles
- Safety Gloves
- Draw Line or Antenna
Procedure:
- Clean the graduated cylinder.
- Place the draw line in the hole in the graduated cylinder.
- With a new cylinder, drill a hole big enough to fit a draw line through.
- Dip the cylinder into the detergent tote of the detergent that is going to be tested. Fill the graduated cylinder with detergent.
- Remove the draw line from the injector of the detergent being tested.
- Count the milliliters(mL) being drawn when the function turns on to off. Watch 3 to 5 different types of vehicles (car, truck, S.U.V.s) and calculate the average mL being drawn. Record this information.
- Once done with 3 to 5 vehicles, put the injector draw line back into the injector. Repeat this test on the rest of the functions that use this detergent. You may need to refill the cylinder.
- Once all the functions use the same detergent, rinse and clean the cylinder and move on to the next detergent.
- Repeat this throughout all the detergents.
- Record each application's milliliters drawn, injector size, tips, and air pressure.
- Once all the testing is completed, clean up any messes made in the detergent pod and clean your cylinder.
- Record all the information you wrote down into a spreadsheet for easy record keeping.
