Custom angled glide plate orders
How to measure your glide plates and frame, and what we need from you to build the right part.
Tommy Car Wash Systems | 648 S Point Ridge, Holland, MI 49423 | Tommycarwash.com/Support
Glide plates outside the standard length are a custom order. Because each one is cut to the measurements you supply, you will need to measure every glide plate yourself to confirm the length is right for your specific site.
Glide plates are available in two thicknesses: 3/16” and 1/4”.
Read this before you order
Custom glide plates are non-returnable and non-refundable. The measurements on your order sheet are treated as accurate for your site, so measure twice before you submit. The order sheet includes a signature line confirming this.
1Measure the angled glide plate length
Measure each glide plate from inside bend to inside bend, on the underside of the plate. This is dimension A1 in the drawing below, and it is the measurement we need.
Side view on top, underside view below. A1 is the inside-bend-to-inside-bend length. C is plate thickness.
2Measure the frame
Measure inside edge to inside edge of the V-Trough, running your tape along the inside edge of the frame so the length comes out right.
Measure both sides of the frame at the same glide plate location to confirm the two sides sit the same distance apart. If the two measurements differ, use the larger one when ordering.
Arrows mark the Belt Flush / V-Trough locations on the frame.
Reference frame section, top view. The dimension lines mark the area to be measured at the V-Trough gaps.
What we need on your order
Complete one line on the order sheet for each glide plate configuration you need.
Frame measurement
Inside edge to inside edge of the V-Trough. Use the larger figure if the two sides differ.
Glide plate width
Width of the plate you are ordering.
Thickness
3/16” or 1/4”.
Number of bends
How many bends the plate requires.
Quantity
How many plates at this configuration.
Driver or passenger side
Which side of the tunnel the plate is for.
Complete and submit the order sheet
Download the order sheet attached to this article, fill in your measurements, and sign it. The sheet asks for:
- Site name and location
- Glide plate thickness

- Printed name
- Signature
Questions before you submit? Contact Client Services. If you are unsure about a measurement, reach out first — a phone call costs less than a custom plate that will not fit.
Before you hit send
- Every glide plate measured individually, inside bend to inside bend
- Frame measured on both sides at the same glide plate location
- Larger of the two frame measurements recorded
- Thickness, bends, quantity, and side confirmed for each line
- Order sheet signed and dated
These plates are cut to your numbers and cannot be returned. Measure twice.
