Instructions:
Step 1 - Preparation
Unplug and fully de-energize the unit before proceeding.
Step 2 – Blower Motor Disassembly
- Open the righthand side panel of the unit. Begin by unplugging the cable connector from the blower motor.
- Remove the flexible coupling from the blower motor.
Remove the bracket and blower motor from the side panel and set aside.
Step 3 – Temporary Air Knife Disassembly
- Open the top lid and lefthand side panel. Begin by removing the single bolt attaching the air-knife to the side panel. (Note: if your air knife has an anti-rotation bracket installed, this can remain in place)
- Remove the flexible coupling from the air-knife and discard.
Remove the hose barb elbow and discard.
Step 4 – Air Knife Reinstallation
- Install the straight hose barb into the PVC reducer bushing
- Affix the reducer bushing and hose barb to the end of the air-knife
Reinstall the air-knife assembly by first inserting the hose barb through the opening in the side panel, then pivot the assembly in order to reinstall the bolt on the opposite side.
Step 5 – Blower Motor Reinstallation
- Install the new blower motor and bracket to the side panel
Note: the new bracket will be flipped 180 degrees compared to the old bracket such that the flange now protrudes underneath the blower motor.
- Attach the included hose section to the hose barb and blower motor using the provided hose clamps.
- Note: Slight trimming may be necessary, above photo shows a hose that is longer than needed.
- Rewire the new blower motor to the cable using the provided clips. There will be a ground wire and two leads.
Step 6 – Function Check
- Close all doors and lids, plug the unit back in, and check for proper function.
- Note: Blowers have spinning blades, keep fingers, extremities, hair, and loose clothing well clear of inlet while the unit is running.
