Pause Button Troubleshooting and Repair
This document will describe troubleshooting for when a pause button is shown to be “stuck” in the ON position. This can happen with stop buttons additionally.
All pause buttons are wired in sequence. This means any pause button in the tunnel or on the flight deck can bring the conveyor to “pause” speeds.
When pause buttons have not been activated but “pause” is showing to be activate, you will need an electrician or experienced team member to put a VDC volt meter to each pause buttons set of contacts without pushing the pause button. The meter should read close to 0VDC on the GOOD contacts and around 24VDC on the BAD contacts. Any buttons that are not pressed and providing results of 24VDC, need to be replaced.
Be sure to inspect the contacts and wires for corrosion or other signs of moisture and water damage as this may cause the button to short out; which will send a signal to the controller telling it to bring the conveyor to “Pause” speeds.
