How to Replace the Draw Lines, Foot Valve, and Weight
Preliminary Note: The Wash can be Open to perform this procedure. Inspecting the Draw Lines, Metering Tips and Weights should be done weekly or as needed.
Items needed:
- Draw Line - Part #P-CHE-2163
- Foot Valve – Part #P-CHE-2003
- Weights – P-WAT-2106
Procedures:
Inspect the Draw Lines.
Draw Lines need to be regularly Inspected/Replaced. There are a few easy ways to tell if your Draw Lines need to be replaced. Not replacing bad Draw Lines can lead to them breaking down on the inside and cause Metering Tips, VersaDials, and Injectors to be clogged and not allow Detergents to get to the proper Arch.
- Visually, some draw lines can be Hazy or Foggy looking. These Draw Lines are easy to identify and need to be replaced right away.
- Some Draw Lines can be Squeezed to see how hard they are. If the Draw Line is hard to the touch, then it is ready to be replaced.
- Swollen or soft-looking Draw Lines are also easy to identify and need to be replaced.
How to Install New Draw Lines
Start by using Superthane Ether Draw Line. The Superthane Ether Draw Line is made from a stronger plastic that resists breakdown from our Detergents and lasts longer.
- Pull a foot or two of the new Draw Line through the Chord Grip in the Tote.
- Slide the weight over the end of the Draw Line and push the new Foot Valve onto the new Draw Line.
- Drop the end with the Foot Valve and Weight down into the Tote. Adjust the height of the Foot Valve so that it is about an inch or two from the bottom of the Tote. We want the Foot Valve to be hanging like a “Pendulum” so that it does not pull any dirt or debris into the Draw Line. This could cause the Foot Valve, Metering Tip, or Injector to be clogged and not work properly. Tighten the Chord Grip to secure your desired height.
- Cut The Draw Line and install it on the Injector or The VersaDial so that all Draw Lines are uniform and neat looking.
